The aim of this code is to ensure that all parents encourage their child to enjoy sport in the true meaning of sportsmanship. Always remember that we are here for the player’s enjoyment, NOT for our own. Players participate for pleasure, and winning is only part of the fun.
In being involved with South Wallsend Junior Soccer Club:
I will remember that children are involved in sport for their enjoyment, not for the enjoyment of the parent/guardian and will encourage my child to participate, but not force them if they are not willing
I will focus on my child’s honest effort and performance rather than the overall outcome of the game
I will not use bad language, nor will I harass players, coaches, officials or other spectators
I will teach my child to respect the efforts of their opponents
I will remember that children learn best by example, so I will applaud good plays or performances by both my child’s team and their opponents
I will give positive comments that motivate and encourage continued effort
I will thank coaches, officials, and other volunteers who give their time to conduct the event for my child
I will help when asked by a coach, manager or official
I will not criticise or ridicule my child’s performance after the game
I will not arrive at the venue intoxicated nor drink alcohol at junior matches
I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of all people involved in the game, regardless of their gender, ability or cultural background
Any breach of this Code of Conduct will result in individuals or groups being brought before the Club disciplinary committee and necessary action will be taken.
The committee believes that in the past, SWJSC parents have proven to be great ambassadors for the club and hope that by following these basic codes you will continue to represent our club in the way that has given us the title as one of the best Junior Soccer Clubs in Newcastle.
